Picnic at the Park

Colorado Part III: Picnic at the Park

On Sunday, it was such a beautiful day that we decided to go for a picnic at the park. We bought sandwiches and a salad from Ink Coffee then headed to Commons Park to relax and eat. Next, we walked to Confluence Park. Sam said it was his favorite park but, unfortunately, it was under construction so I didn’t get to experience the beauty. We walked on Cherry Creek trail then saw a glimpse of the Pepsi Center arena, Sports Authority Field, and Elitch Gardens Theme Park. I really wish that theme park would’ve been open while we were there.

After strolling the parks, we shopped at the Denver Pavilions, grabbed a drink at Lucky Strike, and played arcade games at FTW (For the Win). For the Win was kind of like a Dave & Busters but much smaller. I actually beat Sam at a game of shooting hoops but then he beat me the next round; he also won in Air Hockey. After a while of playing games, we headed back to the hotel for room service.

On Monday, I somehow convinced Sam to go iceskating with me, since we don’t have a place around us in New Orleans. Plus, they had decorated it for Valentine’s Day so I wanted to romantically ice-skate with my boyfriend. It was so much fun! I actually thought I’d be the one falling since I hadn’t skated in so long, but I was actually doing pretty well. Sam, on the other hand, couldn’t let go of my hand and had to use the kids walker. It was such a funny site to see because he is very tall.

After iceskating, we went to eat at Yard House where Sam ordered a giant beer. As our last meal in Denver, we split more mac n cheese, fried and regular to be exact, a burger, and a pizza. Again, I was definitely not counting calories on this trip, no shame. While we were walking back to our hotel to get our luggage and head home, we saw a fun graffiti wall that I had to take a picture in front of. Seriously, I wish I could make graffiti art sometimes; it’s mesmerizing. We then, sadly, left Colorado to go home.

Until next time, Denver.
